After selecting “New Game” on the main menu, you'll meet Professor Sycamore who will introduce you to the world of Pokemon and let you choose between three starter Pokemon: Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. Route 1

Exit the lab and follow the path north to Highway 1. You'll encounter your first wild Pokemon battles here, so make sure your starters are strong enough to handle them. Along the way, you'll find several trainers and items, including X Defenses and potions.
