Pokémon Stadium

Pokemon Stadium is a video game developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 game console. It was first released in Japan in 1998, followed by North America and Europe in 2000. The game allows players to battle their Pokémon against other trainers in different arenas.

In Pokemon Stadium, players can use the Transfer Pak accessory to transfer Pokemon from a Game Boy game to a Nintendo 64 console. After changing classes, players can use their Pokémon to fight in multiple game modes, including Gym Master Castle, where players must defeat eight Gym Masters to become the champion; Stadium Mode, which contains various mini-games; and Free battle, players can play against friends or against the computer.

The game also features a 3D mode, allowing players to watch Pokemon battles in full 3D graphics. Additionally, the game includes a feature that allows players to take pictures of their Pokemon and print them out using the Game Boy printer accessory.

story

Pokemon Stadium doesn't have a traditional story like the main series of Pokemon games. Instead, it focuses on players and various other trainers battling and competing in different arenas.

In the game's main mode, Gym Leader Castle, players must defeat a series of Gym Leaders to become champions. Gym leaders have Pokémon teams with their own strengths and weaknesses, and players must strategically choose their Pokémon team to defeat them.

In addition to Gym Leader Castle, there are other modes, such as Stadium Mode, where players can compete in various mini-games, and Free Battle, where players can play against friends or the computer.

Overall, the game's focus is on fighting and collecting Pokémon rather than a traditional story.

Pokemon Stadium Premiere

In Pokémon Stadium, players can't choose a starter Pokémon like they can in the main series games. Instead, they must use the Transfer Pak accessory to transfer Pokemon from Game Boy games to the Nintendo 64 console, thereby building their own Pokémon team.

However, during the game's “Prime Cup” matches, players can only use certain Pokémon, and the game offers a set of rental Pokémon for players to choose from. These rental Pokémon are pre-selected by the game, and players can choose a six-man team from the available options.

The Pokémon available for rent in the game vary depending on the tournament and the Cup being played, but here are some of the Pokémon available for rent in the “Prime Cup” tournament:

  • pikachu
  • Charizard
  • jellyfish
  • Venus Dragon
  • fat man
  • Gyarados
  • Alakazam
  • snorax
  • Zapdos
  • Mew-two

Players can also unlock new rental Pokémon by completing certain in-game challenges and objectives.

Pokemon Stadium Guide

Since Pokemon Stadium doesn't have a traditional story or campaign mode, it doesn't have specific chapters. Instead, it has a variety of modes that players can access, each with a set of challenges that players can complete. Here's a brief walkthrough of each mode:

  • Gym Leader Castle: This is the main mode of the game, where players battle through eight gym leaders before defeating the elite four to become the champion. Each gym master specializes in a specific type of Pokémon, and players must carefully choose their team to their advantage against their opponents. Once all Gym Leaders are defeated, players can challenge the Elite Four and the Champion to become the ultimate Pokémon Master.
  • Stadium Mode: This mode contains various mini-games that the player can participate in, such as “Picchu Power Plant” (where the player must guide Pichu through obstacles) or “Aiken Shot” (where the player must throw a hoop at Aiken). Players can earn coins by completing mini-games and use them to purchase items in the in-game store.
  • free fight: In this mode, players can use any Pokémon they have collected to play against friends or the computer. The mode doesn't have any restrictions or challenges, so players can customize the battles to their liking.
  • Pokemon Academy: The mode teaches players various aspects of Pokémon combat, such as type matching, status effects, and abilities. This is a great mode for beginners who want to learn more about the game mechanics.
